20 - He said: And al-Duri narrated to us, saying: Sulayman ibn Dawud narrated to us, saying: Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, saying: 'Atiyyah al-Sarraj narrated to us, that Abu Muslim al-Khawlani said: "Indeed, he is a commander over you just like yourself; so if he is rightly guided, then praise Allah, and if he acts otherwise, then supplicate to Allah for his guidance, and do not oppose him, lest you go astray."
٢٠ - قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنَا الدُّورِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ، قَالَ: ثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا عَطِيَّةُ السَّرَّاجُ، أَنَّ أَبَا مُسْلِمٍ الْخَوْلَانِيَّ، قَالَ: «إِنَّهُ مُؤَمَّرٌ عَلَيْكَ مِثْلُكَ، فَإِنِ اهْتَدَى فَاحْمَدِ اللَّهَ، وَإِنْ عَمِلَ بِغَيْرِ ذَلِكَ فَادْعُ لَهُ بِالْهُدَى، وَلَا تُخَالِفْهُ فَتَضِلَّ»
