222 - Al-Hasan ibn al-Haytham informed me that Muhammad ibn Musa narrated to them that he asked Abu 'Abd Allah: What is the meaning of the statement of al-Sha'bi: 'The share of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and the safi (choice portion)'? He said: 'The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) used to choose for himself from the spoils of war.'
