223 - Muhammad ibn Ali informed me, saying: Salih narrated to us that he said to his father regarding the hadith of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace): "My eyes sleep, but my heart does not sleep." He said: "The Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) was distinguished by this; when he slept, he did not perform ablution," and he said: "My eyes sleep, but my heart does not sleep." (202)
224 - Muhammad ibn al-Abbas ibn Ibrahim informed me, saying: Muhammad ibn Mansur ibn Muhammad ibn Mansur al-Harbi narrated to us, saying: Ibrahim ibn Siqlab narrated to us, saying: Yusuf ibn 'Abd Allah al-Khwarizmi narrated to us, saying: It was said to Ahmad ibn Hanbal concerning the statement of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace): "My eyes sleep," and he mentioned something exactly like the inquiry of Salih.
٢٢٣ - أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا صَالِحٌ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ: حَدِيثُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «تَنَامُ عَيْنَايَ، وَلَا يَنَامُ قَلْبِي» قَالَ: «كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خُصَّ بِهَذَا، كَانَ إِذَا نَامَ لَمْ يَتَوَضَّأْ» ، وَقَالَ: «تَنَامُ عَيْنَايَ، وَلَا يَنَامُ قَلْبِي» ⦗٢٠٢⦘.
٢٢٤ - أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ الْحَرْبِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سِقْلَابٍ قَالَ: ثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخُوَارِزْمِيُّ، قَالَ: قِيلَ لِأَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ: قَوْلُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «تَنَامُ عَيْنَايَ» ، فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَ مَسْأَلَةِ صَالِحٍ سَوَاءً
