316 - Abu Bakr narrated to us, saying: al-Fadl ibn Muslim al-Muharibi narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn 'Ismah narrated to us, saying: Jandal narrated to us, saying: 'Amr ibn Aws al-Ansari narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah, from Qatadah, from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib, from Ibn 'Abbas, who said: "Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He, revealed to 'Isa (peace be upon him), among what He revealed: 'Believe in Muhammad and command your nation, whoever among them reaches his time, to believe in him. For were it not for Muhammad, I would not have created Adam, and were it not for Muhammad, I would not have created the Fire. I created the Throne upon the water, and it shook, so I wrote: "There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah," and it became still.'" Abu Bakr said: I presented this to Abu 'Abd Allah Muhammad ibn Bishr ibn Sharik, and he affirmed it, saying: It is with me from Jandal ibn Waliq.
