334 - Muhammad informed us, saying: Waki' narrated to us, from Nafi' ibn 'Umar, from Ibn Abi Mulaykah, who said: A man said to Abu Bakr, "O Caliph of Allah!" He replied: "I am not the Caliph of Allah, the Almighty and Majestic; rather, I am the Caliph (successor) of the Messenger of Allah, and I am content with that."
