37 - Muhammad informed us, saying: Waki' reported to us, from Usamah ibn Zayd, from 'Ubadah ibn al-Walid ibn 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit, from his grandfather 'Ubadah ibn al-Samit, who said: "We pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, to hear and obey in times of hardship and ease, in times of delight and adversity, and that we would not dispute the authority of those in charge, that we would uphold the truth wherever we may be, and that we would not fear the blame of any critic for the sake of Allah."
