63 - Muhammad informed us, saying: Waki' informed us, from Mis'ar, from 'Uthman ibn Abi al-Mughirah, from Abu Sadiq al-Azdi, from Rabi'ah ibn Najid, from 'Ali, who said: "The leaders are from Quraysh; their righteous ones are leaders of their righteous ones, and their wicked ones are leaders of their wicked ones. Each has a right, so give everyone who has a right his right, as long as one of you is not given the choice between his Islam and the striking of his neck. If he is given the choice between his Islam and the striking of his neck, then let him stretch forth his neck—may his mother be bereaved of him—for he has neither worldly life nor hereafter after his Islam."
٦٣ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ، قَالَ: أَنْبَأَ وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ أَبِي صَادِقٍ الْأَزْدِيِّ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ نَاجِدٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: «الْأَئِمَّةُ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ، أَبْرَارُهَا أَئِمَّةُ أَبْرَارِهَا، وَفُجَّارُهَا أَئِمَّةُ فُجَّارِهَا، وَلِكُلٍّ حَقٌّ، فَأَعْطُوا كُلَّ ذِي حَقٍّ حَقَّهُ، مَا لَمْ يُخَيَّرْ أَحَدُكُمْ بَيْنَ إِسْلَامِهِ وَضَرْبِ عُنُقِهِ، فَإِنْ خُيِّرَ بَيْنَ إِسْلَامِهِ وَضَرْبِ عُنُقِهِ، فَلْيَمْدُدْ عُنُقَهُ، ثَكِلَتْهُ أُمُّهُ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا دُنْيَا لَهُ وَلَا آخِرَةَ بَعْدَ إِسْلَامِهِ»
