And he said: "Hear and obey in your ease and your hardship, and when preference is given over you." Thus, what is narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, of the hadiths is contrary to the hadith of Thawban, and I do not know what its direction is.
وَقَالَ: «السَّمْعُ وَالطَّاعَةُ فِي عُسْرِكَ، وَيُسْرِكَ، وَأَثَرَةٍ عَلَيْكَ» فَالَّذِي يُرْوَى عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنَ الْأَحَادِيثِ خِلَافُ حَدِيثِ ثَوْبَانَ، وَمَا أَدْرِي مَا وَجْهُهُ
