492 - Hamzah informed me, saying: Hanbal narrated to us, saying: Abu Abd Allah narrated to me, saying: Isma'il narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah, from Qatadah, who said: I heard Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib saying: "Had I borne witness for any living person that he is among the people of Paradise, I would have borne witness for Abdullah ibn Umar." I saw Abu Abd Allah finding this statement excellent. He [Abu Abd Allah] said: "For any living person, for any living person," repeating the words, and he was impressed by that.
٤٩٢ - وَأَخْبَرَنِي حَمْزَةُ، قَالَ: ثَنَا حَنْبَلٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ: ثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ الْمُسَيِّبِ، يَقُولُ: «لَوْ شَهِدْتُ لِأَحَدٍ حَيٍّ أَنَّهُ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ لَشَهِدْتُ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ» ، فَرَأَيْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَسْتَحْسِنُهُ قَالَ: لِأَحَدٍ حَيٍّ، لِأَحَدٍ حَيٍّ، يُرَدِّدُ الْكَلَامَ، وَيُعْجِبُهُ ذَلِكَ
