497 - Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Ali informed me that Ya'qub ibn Bukhtan narrated to them regarding this issue, and said: "Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him" [Al-Ma'idah: 119]. He also narrates from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace): "The people of Paradise consist of one hundred and twenty rows; eighty of them are from my Ummah." If Abu Bakr and Umar (may Allah have mercy upon them) are not among them, then who is? Then I returned to the issue of Abd Allah and Abu al-Harith. Abd Allah said: I said to my father: "What if he says: I say that Abu Bakr and Umar are in Paradise, but I do not bear witness [that they are]?" He said: "It is said to him: Is what you say the truth? If he says: Yes, it is said to him: Why do you not bear witness to the truth, when bearing witness is speech? One does not bear witness until he speaks, and when he speaks, he has borne witness. And the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: 'The people of Paradise consist of one hundred and twenty rows; eighty of them are from my Ummah.' So if the Companions of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) are not among them, then who would be?"
٤٩٧ - وَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، أَنَّ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ بُخْتَانَ حَدَّثَهُمْ فِي هَذِهِ الْمَسْأَلَةِ وَقَالَ: {رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ} [المائدة: ١١٩] ، وَيَرْوِي عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ عِشْرُونَ وَمِائَةُ صَفٍّ، أُمَّتِي مِنْهَا ثَمَانُونَ» . فَإِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ رَحِمَهُمَا اللَّهُ مِنْهُمْ فَمَنْ مِنْهُمْ؟ ثُمَّ رَجَعْتُ إِلَى مَسْأَلَةِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَأَبِي الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي: فَإِنْ قَالَ: أَنَا أَقُولُ: إِنَّ أَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ فِي الْجَنَّةِ، وَلَا أَشْهَدُ؟ قَالَ: " يُقَالَ لَهُ: هَذَا الَّذِي تَقُولُ حَقٌّ؟ فَإِنْ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، فَيُقَالَ لَهُ: أَلَا تَشْهَدُ عَلَى الْحَقِّ، وَالشَّهَادَةُ ⦗٣٦٦⦘ هِيَ الْقَوْلُ، وَلَا يَشْهَدُ حَتَّى يَقُولَ، وَإِذَا قَالَ شَهِدَ، وَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَهْلُ الْجَنَّةِ عِشْرُونَ وَمِائَةُ صَفٍّ، ثَمَانُونَ مِنْهَا مِنْ أُمَّتِي فَإِذَا لَمْ يَكُنْ أَصْحَابُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْهُمْ فَمَنْ يَكُونُ؟
