515 - Al-Husayn ibn Salih informed us, saying: Muhammad ibn Hubayb narrated to us, saying: Hatim ibn Abi Hatim al-Jawhari narrated to me, saying: Qabisah narrated to us, from Sufyan, who said: "Whoever prioritizes 'Ali over Abu Bakr and 'Umar has disparaged twelve thousand of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and I fear that no deed will benefit him alongside that."
٥١٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حُبَيْبَ، قَالَ ⦗٣٧٥⦘: حَدَّثَنِي حَاتِمُ بْنُ أَبِي حَاتِمٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ: «مَنْ قَدَّمَ عَلِيًّا عَلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ فَقَدْ أَزْرَى عَلَى اثْنَيْ عَشَرَ أَلْفًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَأَخَافُ أَلَّا يَنْفَعَهُ مَعَ ذَلِكَ عَمَلٌ»
