517 - He said: And al-Duri narrated to us, saying: 'Abd al-'Aziz ibn Aban al-Qurashi narrated to us: I heard Sufyan al-Thawri say: "Whoever prioritizes anyone over Abu Bakr and 'Umar has disparaged twelve thousand of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, for the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, passed away while he was pleased with them."
٥١٧ - قَالَ: وَحَدَّثَنَا الدُّورِيُّ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبَانَ الْقُرَشِيُّ: سَمِعْتُ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيَّ، قَالَ: «مَنْ قَدَّمَ عَلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ أَحَدًا فَقَدْ أَزْرَى عَلَى اثْنَيْ عَشَرُ أَلْفًا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَهُوَ عَنْهُمْ رَاضٍ»
