524 - 'Ali ibn 'Isa informed me that Hanbal narrated to them, saying: I heard Abu 'Abd Allah [Ahmad ibn Hanbal] say: "Whoever claims that 'Ali is better than Abu Bakr is a man of evil; we do not associate with him, nor do we sit with him."
٥٢٤ - أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ عِيسَى، أَنَّ حَنْبَلًا حَدَّثَهُمْ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ: «مَنْ زَعَمَ أَنَّ عَلِيًّا أَفْضَلُ مِنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ فَهُوَ رَجُلُ سُوءٍ، لَا نُخَالِطُهُ، وَلَا نُجَالِسُهُ»
