550 - And Ahmad ibn Shu'ayb Abu 'Abd al-Rahman al-Nasa'i narrated to us: Ishaq ibn Ibrahim ibn Rahawayh narrated to us: al-Walid ibn Muslim informed us, from Thawr ibn Yazid, from Salim, from his father, who said: 'A man from the Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) met me; he had a stutter in his tongue, such that he could not make his speech clear. He mentioned 'Uthman, so 'Abd Allah said: He said: "By Allah, I do not know what you are saying, except that you know, O community of the Companions of Muhammad, that we used to say during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): Abu Bakr, and 'Umar, and 'Uthman. It is only this wealth; if he gives it..." and he mentioned the rest of the Hadith.'
٥٥٠ - وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ النَّسَائِيُّ، ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ رَاهَوَيْهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ: لَقِيَنِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، بِلِسَانِهِ ثِقَلٌ، مَا يُبَيِّنُ كَلَامَهُ، فَذَكَرَ عُثْمَانَ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ: فَقَالَ: وَاللَّهِ مَا أَدْرِي مَا تَقُولُ، غَيْرَ أَنَّكُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ مَعْشَرَ أَصْحَابِ مُحَمَّدٍ، إِنَّا كُنَّا نَقُولُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَبُو بَكْرٍ، وَعُمَرُ وَعُثْمَانُ، وَإِنَّمَا هُوَ هَذَا الْمَالُ، فَإِنْ أَعْطَاهُ " وَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
