555 - And I read to him: Muhammad ibn Ja'far said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Habib ibn al-Zubayr, he said: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn al-Shurud say: I heard 'Ali delivering a sermon, and he said: "I truly hope that I and 'Uthman are as Allah the Almighty said: {And We shall remove from their breasts any deep resentment; [they will be] brothers, on thrones facing each other} [Al-Hijr: 47]."
٥٥٥ - وَقَرَأْتُ عَلَيْهِ: مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ قَالَ: ثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ الشُّرُودِ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا، يَخْطُبُ، فَقَالَ: " إِنِّي لَأَرْجُو أَنْ أَكُونَ أَنَا وَعُثْمَانُ كَمَا قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: {وَنَزَعْنَا مَا فِي صُدُورِهِمْ مِنْ غَلٍّ إِخْوَانًا عَلَى سُرُرٍ مُتَقَابِلِينَ} [الحجر: ٤٧] "
