387 - Muhammad b. 'Ali informed me, saying: Salih narrated to us, that his father said: The hadith of 'A'ishah that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "There were people in the nations before you who were inspired (muhaddathun); if there is anyone in my nation, it is 'Umar b. al-Khattab, as if he is inspired with the truth."
٣٨٧ - أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا صَالِحٌ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ قَالَ: حَدِيثُ ⦗٣١٢⦘ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «كَانَ فِي الْأُمَمِ مُحَدَّثُونَ، فَإِنْ يَكُنْ فِي أُمَّتِي فَعُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ، كَأَنَّهُ يُلْهَمُ الشَّيْءَ مِنَ الْحَقِّ»
