He said: Hanbal related to us, and Abu Ghassan told us, saying: Al-Hasan ibn Salih narrated to us, from Abu Bishr, from Al-Hasan regarding the verse: {Allah will bring forth a people whom He will love and who will love Him} [Al-Ma'idah: 54]. He said: "They are Abu Bakr and his companions." Hanbal said: Abu Abd Allah [Imam Ahmad] said: "This Abu Bishr is the Halabi; he passed by them in Kufa, and they heard [hadith] from him."
قَالَ: ثَنَا حَنْبَلٌ، وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ قَالَ: ثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ: {فَسَوْفَ يَأْتِي اللَّهُ بِقَوْمٍ يُحِبُّهُمْ وَيُحِبُّونَهُ} [المائدة: ٥٤]
⦗٤٨٣⦘ . قَالَ: «أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَأَصْحَابُهُ» . قَالَ حَنْبَلٌ: قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ: أَبُو بِشْرٍ هَذَا هُوَ الْحَلَبِيُّ، مَرَّ بِهِمْ بِالْكُوفَةِ فَسَمِعُوا مِنْهُ
