770 - Al-Duri informed us, saying: Yahya ibn Ma'in related to us, saying: Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi related to us, from Sufyan, from Ubayd Allah ibn Abi Umayyah, from Ibn Umar, that he mentioned the companions of the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and said: "They are deficient in much, whereas you are deficient in little."
٧٧٠ - أَخْبَرَنَا الدُّورِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ، قَالَ: ثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّهُ ذَكَرَ أَصْحَابَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «إِنَّهُمْ يَنْقُصُونَ مِنْ كَثِيرٍ، وَأَنْتُمْ تَنْقُصُونَ مِنْ قَلِيلٍ»
