891 - Muhammad ibn Isma'il informed us, saying: Waki' narrated to us, from Sa'id ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz al-Tanukhi, from Rabi'ah ibn Yazid, from Ibn al-Daylami, who said: I asked 'Abd Allah ibn 'Amr about "the pen has dried," and he said: "When Allah, the Almighty and Majestic, created the Pen, He cast upon them some of His light; so whoever received something of it was guided."
٨٩١ - أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ: ثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ التَّنُوخِيِّ، عَنْ رَبِيعَةَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ ابْنِ الدَّيْلَمِيِّ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو عَنْ «جَفَّ الْقَلَمُ» ، قَالَ: «إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَمَّا خَلَقَ الْقَلَمَ أَلْقَى عَلَيْهِمْ مِنْ نُورِهِ، فَمَنْ أَصَابَهُ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ اهْتَدَى»
