957 - Muhammad b. Abi Harun informed me that Ishaq narrated to them that Abu 'Abd Allah was asked about a man who says: 'Faith is speech (qawl).' Abu 'Abd Allah said: 'If he brings the speech, we say: The speech is "Subhan Allah" (Glory be to Allah) and "La ilaha illa Allah" (There is no god but Allah). And indeed, deeds decrease and increase; whoever does evil, his faith decreases, and whoever does good, his faith is increased.'
