1020 - Sulayman ibn al-Ash'ath informed us that Abu 'Abd Allah said: "Prayer, zakat, pilgrimage, and all righteousness are part of faith, and acts of disobedience diminish faith." And I heard Abu 'Abd Allah say: "If a man says, 'I will not pray,' he is an unbeliever (kafir)."
١٠٢٠ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْأَشْعَثِ، أَنَّ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: «الصَّلَاةُ، وَالزَّكَاةُ، وَالْحَجُّ، وَالْبِرُّ كُلُّهُ مِنَ الْإِيمَانِ، وَالْمَعَاصِي تُنْقِصُ الْإِيمَانَ» ، وَسَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ: " إِذَا قَالَ الرَّجُلُ: لَا أُصَلِّي، فَهُوَ كَافِرٌ "
