1036 - Muhammad ibn Harun informed me that Ishaq narrated to them, saying: I heard Abu 'Abd Allah [Ahmad ibn Hanbal] say: "These are the verses regarding faith: {And they were not commanded except to worship Allah, [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion} [Al-Bayyinah: 5], and this verse: {That they may increase in faith along with their [present] faith} [Al-Fath: 4]."
١٠٣٦ - أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَنَّ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَهُمْ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، يَقُولُ: " هَؤُلَاءِ الْآيَاتُ فِي الْإِيمَانِ: {وَمَا أُمِرُوا إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ حُنَفَاءَ، وَيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ، وَيُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ، وَذَلِكَ دِينُ الْقَيِّمَةِ} [البينة: ٥] وَهَذِهِ الْآيَةُ: {لِيَزْدَادُوا إِيمَانًا مَعَ إِيمَانِهِمْ} [الفتح: ٤] "
