1079 - Yusuf ibn 'Abd Allah wrote to me that al-Hasan ibn 'Ali ibn al-Hasan narrated to them that he asked Abu 'Abd Allah [Ahmad ibn Hanbal] about whether faith (iman) is more emphatic or Islam? He replied: "The hadith of 'Umar has come [to us], and the hadith of Sa'd is more beloved to me."
١٠٧٩ - كَتَبَ إِلَيَّ يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ حَدَّثَهُمْ أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْإِيمَانِ أَوْكَدُ أَوِ الْإِسْلَامُ؟ قَالَ: «جَاءَ حَدِيثُ عُمَرَ هَذَا وَحَدِيثُ سَعْدٍ أَحَبُّ لِي»
