855 - Al-Duri informed us, saying: Muslim ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, saying: Al-Salt ibn Dinar narrated to us, saying: I heard al-Hajjaj upon the pulpit of Wasit saying: "Abdullah ibn Mas'ud is the leader of the hypocrites; if I had caught him, I would have watered the earth with his blood."
٨٥٥ - أَخْبَرَنَا الدُّورِيُّ، قَالَ: ثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ: ثَنَا الصَّلْتُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ الْحَجَّاجَ، عَلَى مِنْبَرِ وَاسِطٍ يَقُولُ: «عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ رَأْسُ الْمُنَافِقِينَ، لَوْ أَدْرَكْتُهُ لَسَقَيْتُ الْأَرْضَ مِنْ دَمِهِ»
