783 - Yusuf ibn Musa informed me that Abu Abdullah [Ahmad ibn Hanbal] was asked, and Ali ibn Abd al-Samad informed me, saying: "I asked Ahmad ibn Hanbal about a neighbor of ours who is a Rafidi and greets me; should I return his greeting? He replied: No."
