1297 - Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Sulayman ibn Dawud narrated to us. And al-Maymuni informed us, saying: Ibn Hanbal narrated to us, saying: Sulayman ibn Dawud narrated to us, saying: Shu'bah narrated to us, from Zubayd, who said: "When the Murji'ah spoke (about their views), I went to Abu Wa'il and asked him. He narrated to me from 'Abd Allah (ibn Mas'ud), from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), who said: 'Insulting a Muslim is wickedness—or he said: fisq—and fighting him is disbelief (kufr).'" He said: "Al-A'mash and Mansur narrated it to me, having heard Abu Wa'il narrate from 'Abd Allah, from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the like of it." He said: "So I said to Hammad: 'Do you suspect Zubayd? Do you suspect Mansur? Do you suspect al-A'mash?' He said: 'No, but I suspect Abu Wa'il.'"
