1320 - Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Isma'il narrated to us, saying: Ghalib narrated to us, saying: I said to al-Hasan: "You say regarding the people of Babil: 'Whoever is killed among them is in the Fire, and whoever returns among them, returns without repentance?'" He said: "It is a Hadith that has reached us, and so we repeat it. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: 'Do not return after me as disbelievers, striking the necks of one another.'" [Ghalib asked]: "If a man went out among the people of Babil, then returned and regretted it, and said: 'I will go to the Romans and serve on the frontier (ribat),' would you forbid him from that?" He replied: "No."
