1385 - Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, he said: Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from al-Mas'udi, he said: al-Hasan ibn Sa'd narrated to us, from 'Abd al-Rahman ibn 'Abd Allah, he said: It was said to 'Abd Allah: "Indeed, Allah the Almighty and Majestic mentions prayer frequently: 'Those who are constant in their prayer' [al-Ma'arij: 23], 'Those who strictly observe their prayer' [al-Ma'arij: 34]?" He said: "That refers to their appointed times." They said: "We did not think it meant anything other than abandoning the prayer." He said: "Abandoning it is disbelief (kufr)."
