1405 - Abu 'Abd Allah narrated to us, he said: Waki' narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, from Habib ibn Abi Thabit, from 'Urwah ibn 'Amir al-Qurashi, who said: Taking omens was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he said: "The best of it is al-fa'l (optimistic omen), and it does not turn away a Muslim. If one of you sees something of that which he dislikes, let him say: 'O Allah, none brings good things except You, and none repels bad things except You, and there is no power and no strength except through You.'"
