1553 - He said: Abu Abd Allah narrated to us, saying: Waki' narrated to us, saying: Jarir ibn Hazim narrated to us, from Isa ibn Asim al-Asadi, that Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz wrote to Adi: 'To proceed: Indeed, Islam consists of laws (shara'i'), prescribed punishments (hudud), and practices (sunan). Whoever fulfills them has perfected his faith, and whoever does not fulfill them has not perfected his faith. If I live, I shall clarify them to you, and if I die, then by Allah, I am not eager to associate with you.'
