1683 - Ja'far ibn 'Umar ibn al-Dabbal ibn Ibrahim ibn 'Ajlan al-Basri informed us, saying: I heard 'Abd al-Rahman ibn Mahdi say: "I would not expose anyone from the people of deviant desires to the sword except for the Jahmiyyah, for they make an abominable statement."
١٦٨٣ - أَخْبَرَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ الدَّبَّالِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ الْبَصْرِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنَ مَهْدِيٍّ، يَقُولُ: «مَا كُنْتُ لِأَعْرِضَ أَحَدًا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْأَهْوَاءِ عَلَى السَّيْفِ إِلَّا الْجَهْمِيَّةَ، فَإِنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ قَوْلًا مُنْكَرًا»
