1691 - 'Abd Allah ibn Ahmad ibn Hanbal informed us, saying: Ahmad ibn Sa'id Abu Ja'far al-Darimi narrated to me, saying: I heard my father say: I heard Kharijah say: "The Jahmiyyah are disbelievers. Inform their wives that they are divorced and that they are no longer lawful for their husbands. Do not visit their sick, and do not attend their funerals." Then he recited: {Ta-Ha. We have not sent down the Qur'an to you to cause you distress} [Ta-Ha: 2-5] up to His saying: {The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established}. And is there any establishment (istiwa') except by sitting?"
١٦٩١ - أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ⦗٨٩⦘ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ أَبِي يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ خَارِجَةَ، يَقُولُ: " الْجَهْمِيَّةُ كُفَّارٌ، بَلِّغُوا نِسَاءَهُمْ أَنَّهُنَّ طَوَالِقُ، وَأَنَّهُنَّ لَا يَحْلِلْنَ لِأَزْوَاجِهِنَّ، وَلَا تَعُودُوا مَرْضَاهُمْ، وَلَا تَشْهَدُوا جَنَائِزَهُمْ. ثُمَّ تَلَا: {طه مَا أَنْزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ لِتَشْقَى} [طه: ٢] إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: {الرَّحْمَنُ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ اسْتَوَى} [طه: ٥] ، وَهَلْ يَكُونُ الِاسْتِوَاءُ إِلَّا بِجُلُوسٍ؟ "
