1708 - Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Matar informed me, saying: Abu Talib narrated to us, saying: I said to Abu 'Abd Allah: 'They passed by the grave of a man in Tarsus, and the people of Tarsus said: "The disbeliever, may Allah not have mercy on him."' Abu 'Abd Allah replied: 'Yes, may Allah not have mercy on him; this is the one who founded this and brought this about.'
١٧٠٨ - أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَطَرٍ، قَالَ: ثنا أَبُو طَالِبٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ: إِنَّهُمْ مَرُّوا بِطَرَسُوسَ بِقَبْرِ رَجُلٍ، فَقَالَ أَهْلُ طَرَسُوسَ: الْكَافِرُ، لَا رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ. فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ: «نَعَمْ، فَلَا رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ، هَذَا الَّذِي أَسَّسَ هَذَا، وَجَاءَ بِهَذَا»
