1724 - Abu Bakr al-Marrudhi informed us, saying: I said to Abu Abd Allah, "Is it true that Muthanna al-Anmati spoke in Wasit and praised al-Mirrisi?" He replied, "Yes." He then said, "Yazid said: He should be banished, and he was banished." He was one of its people, meaning: one of the people of Wasit.
١٧٢٤ - وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْمَرُّوذِيُّ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ: أَنَّ مَثْنَى ⦗١٠٢⦘ الْأَنْمَاطِيَّ تَكَلَّمَ بِوَاسِطٍ فَأَثْنَى عَلَى الْمِرِّيسِيِّ؟ فَقَالَ: «نَعَمْ» ، فَقَالَ يَزِيدُ: يُنْفَى، فَأُنْفِيَ، وَكَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِهَا، يَعْنِي: مِنْ أَهْلِ وَاسِطٍ
