From the Exhortations of the Righteous

127 - ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Jarīr al-ʿAtakī narrated to me, ʿAlī ibn ʿUthmān al-Lāḥiqī narrated to us, my father ʿUthmān ibn ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd ibn Lāḥiq narrated to me, he said: I heard Abū Ḥamza al-Kūfī say to al-Faḍl ibn Lāḥiq: "O Abū Bishr! Beware of people, for among them is he who, if given a single dirham to kill a human being, would kill him after lying in wait for him. So do not take as servants except what is absolutely necessary for you, for every person among them is a devil."
