131 - ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, Muḥammad ibn Yazīd al-Ādamī Abū Jaʿfar narrated to us, Sufyān ibn ʿUyayna narrated to us, from Khalaf ibn Ḥawshab, he said: I was with Ibn Abī Rāshid in a graveyard, when a man recited: {O mankind, if you are in doubt about the Resurrection} [Sūrat al-Ḥajj: 5].

So Rabīʿ ibn Abī Rāshid said: "The remembrance of death has come between me and much of what I intended in trade; and if the remembrance of death were to leave my heart for a single hour, I would fear that my heart would become corrupt. Were it not that I would be differing from those before me, the graveyard would have been my dwelling until I die." (1)
