6 - ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us: ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd narrated to us: Abū Muʿāwiya informed us, from al-Aʿmash, from Muslim al-Baṭīn, from ʿAdasa al-Ṭāʾī, who said: A bird that had been hunted in Sharāf was brought to ʿAbd Allāh, so he said: "I wish I were where that bird was caught, speaking to no human being and no human being speaking to me, until I meet God, Mighty and Majestic." Ibn Abī al-Dunyā transmitted it in "al-Mutamannīn" under no. (104 – my verification) with the same chain of transmission and text (matn).
And Ibn Abī Shayba transmitted it (16417), and Hannād in "al-Zuhd" (1242), from the route of Abū Muʿāwiya Muḥammad ibn Khāzim al-Ḍarīr, with it.
Abū Dāwūd transmitted it (166), Wakīʿ (257), and al-Bayhaqī (120), all three in "al-Zuhd"; Nuʿaym ibn Ḥammād in his "Ziyādāt ʿalā Zuhd Ibn al-Mubārak" under no. (13); and al-Ṭabarānī in his "al-Kabīr" (vol. 9, no. 8758), through several routes from al-Aʿmash, with it.
And al-Haythamī authenticated its chain of transmission in "al-Majmaʿ" (10/304).
