9 - ʿAbd Allāh narrated to us, saying: Muḥammad ibn Abī Ḥātim narrated to us, saying: Mūsā ibn Dāwūd narrated to us, saying: Ibn Lahīʿa narrated to us, from Sayyār ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān, who said: Bukayr ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Ashajj said to me: "What did your uncle do?" He said: I said: "He has stayed in his house since such and such a time." So he said: "Indeed, men from the people of Badr stayed in their houses after the killing of ʿUthmān—may Allāh brighten his face—and they did not go out except to their graves." (1)

In its chain of transmission is Ibn Lahīʿa; his memory deteriorated (mukhtaliṭ), and Mūsā ibn Dāwūd heard from him after his memory deteriorated.
A group of his early companions heard from Ibn Lahīʿa, among them: Ibn al-Mubārak, Ibn Wahb, and Ibn al-Muqriʾ; mention of them will come, God willing, in its proper place along with the proofs. And Allah is the Grantor of success.
