From the Evils of Mixing with People

32 - Muḥammad ibn Manṣūr narrated to me, he said: Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd narrated to us, he said: Naṣr ibn Yaḥyā ibn Abī Kathīr said: "Whoever mixes with people flatters them, and whoever flatters them acts ostentatiously toward them." (1).
