Maʿmar informed us, from Qatāda regarding His statement: {Mālik of the Day of Recompense}, he said: "The day on which God requites the servants for their deeds." (1)

170 - And Al-Qāsim ibn al-Ḥasan narrated to us, he said: Al-Ḥusayn ibn Dāwūd narrated to us, he said: Ḥajjāj narrated to me, from Ibn Jurayj: {Mālik of the Day of Recompense}, he said: "The day on which people are requited through the Reckoning." (2)

The discourse on the interpretation of the statement of Him Whose praise is majestic: ﴿You alone we worship﴾.

Abū Jaʿfar said: The Interpretation of His statement: {You alone we worship} is: To You, O Allah, we submit in humility, lowliness, and submissiveness, affirming to You, O our Lord, Lordship, and to none other than You.

171 - As Abū Kurayb narrated to us, he said: ʿUthmān ibn Saʿīd narrated to us, he said: Bishr ibn ʿUmāra narrated to us, he said: Abū Rawq narrated to us, from al-Ḍaḥḥāk, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn ʿAbbās, he said: Gabriel said to Muḥammad, Peace and blessings of God be upon him: "Say, O Muḥammad: {You alone we worship}, You alone we single out in Monotheism (Tawhid), fear, and hope, O our Lord, and none other than You."
