112 - Isḥāq b. Ismāʿīl narrated to us: Abū Muʿāwiya narrated to us from al-Aʿmash from Thumāma b. ʿUqba from Zayd b. Arqam, who said: A man from the Jews came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, and said: "O Abu al-Qāsim, do you not claim that the people of Paradise will eat and drink therein?" And he had said to his companions: "If he acknowledges this to me, I will defeat him in argument." So the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: "Yes, by the One in whose hand is my soul, indeed one of them will be given the strength of a hundred men in drinking, eating, desire, and sexual intercourse." The Jew said: "But he who eats and drinks has a need." The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: "Their need will be a sweat that exudes from their skins like the scent of musk, whereupon the stomach will become lean."
