169 - Abū Khaythama narrated to us: ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Mahdī narrated to us: Muḥammad b. Abī al-Waḍḍāḥ narrated to us: al-ʿAlāʾ b. Rāfiʿ narrated to me: Ḥannān b. Khārija narrated to us, from ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿUmar, he said: A bold Bedouin from the upper lands came and said: "O Messenger of God, inform us about the clothes of the people of Paradise: are they created outright or are they woven?" Some of the people laughed.

So the Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God be upon him, said: "What makes you laugh at an ignorant man asking a scholar?" Then the Messenger of God lowered his head for a while, then said: "Where is the one asking about the clothes of the people of Paradise?" He said: "Here I am, O Messenger of God." He said: "No, rather the fruits of Paradise split open to reveal them."
