"Call upon your Lord in humility and in private," meaning: in secret. "And do not cause corruption upon the earth after its reformation," meaning: after the Prophet has been sent and his call has been responded to. "Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the doers of good."
﴿ادعوا رَبك تضرعاً وخفية﴾ أَيْ: سِرًّا ﴿وَلا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الأَرْض بعد إصلاحها﴾ يَعْنِي: بَعْدَ مَا بُعِثَ النَّبِيُّ، واستجيب لَهُ ﴿إِن رَحْمَة اللَّهِ قَرِيبٌ مِنَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ﴾.
