"I will turn away from My signs those who are arrogant upon the earth without right." Al-Hasan said: He says: I will turn them away from them, such that they do not believe in them. "And if they see the way of error," meaning: disbelief, "they will take it as a way." He informed of His knowledge regarding them; that they will never believe.
Surah Al-A'raf from verse (148) to verse (149).
﴿سَأَصْرِفُ عَنْ آيَاتِيَ الَّذِينَ يَتَكَبَّرُونَ فِي الأَرْض﴾ قَالَ الْحَسَنُ: يَقُولُ: سَأَصْرِفُهُمْ عَنْهَا؛ حَتَّى لَا يُؤْمِنُوا بِهَا ﴿وَإِنْ يرَوا سَبِيل الغي﴾ يَعْنِي: الْكفْر ﴿يتخذوه سَبِيلا﴾ أَخْبَرَ بِعِلْمِهِ فِيهِمْ؛ أَنَّهُمْ لَا يُؤمنُونَ أبدا.
سُورَة الْأَعْرَاف من الْآيَة (١٤٨) إِلَى الْآيَة (١٤٩).
