His saying: "And the Last Day"

647 - By way of him [the same chain] from Ibn 'Abbas: "And the Last Day" means whoever believes in the Last Day. He says: He believed in what Allah revealed.

His saying: "Then they have their reward with their Lord"

648 - My father narrated to us, Hisham ibn Khalid narrated to us, Shu'ayb ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Sa'id ibn Abi 'Arubah narrated to us from Qatadah who said: A great reward for their good deeds, and it is Paradise.

His saying: "And when We took your covenant"

649 - 'Isam ibn Rawwad narrated to us, Adam narrated to us, Abu Ja'far narrated to us from al-Rabi' from Abu al-'Aliyah regarding His saying: "Your covenant" - he says: He took their covenants that they should be sincere to Him and worship no one else.

His saying: "And We raised the Mount above you"

650 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Yahya ibn Yaman narrated to us from Sufyan from al-A'mash from Muslim al-Batin: "And We raised the Mount above you" - he said: The angels raised it.

651 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Minjab ibn al-Harith narrated to us, Bishr ibn 'Umarah informed us from Abu Rawq from al-Dahhak from Ibn 'Abbas regarding His saying: "The Mount (al-Tur)" - he said: The Tur is what grows from the mountains, and whatever does not grow is not a Tur. He said: Another opinion is narrated from Ibn 'Abbas.

652 - My father narrated to us from Ibrahim ibn Mahdi al-Masisi, Abu 'Abd al-Samad al-'Ammi narrated to us from 'Ata' ibn al-Sa'ib from Sa'id ibn Jubayr from Ibn 'Abbas who said: The Tur is a mountain. He said: A similar statement is narrated from Mujahid, 'Ata', 'Ikrimah, al-Hasan, al-Dahhak, al-Rabi' ibn Anas, and Abu Sakhr.

653 - Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us, Hajjaj narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj said: 'Ata' said to me regarding "We raised the Mount above you": He raised the mountain over the Children of Israel and said: "You shall surely believe in it or it shall fall upon you."

قوله: وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ

٦٤٧ - بِهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ: وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ يَعْنِي مَنْ آمَنَ بِالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ، يَقُولُ:

آمَنَ بِمَا أَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ.

قَوْلُهُ: فَلَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ

٦٤٨ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ثنا شُعَيْبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ قَالَ: أَجْرٌ كَبِيرٌ لِحَسَنَاتِهِمْ، وَهِيَ الْجَنَّةُ.

قوله: وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَاقَكُمْ

٦٤٩ - حَدَّثَنَا عِصَامُ بْنُ رَوَّادٍ ثنا آدَمُ ثنا أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ عَنِ الرَّبِيعِ عَنْ أَبِي الْعَالِيَةِ:

قَوْلُهُ: مِيثَاقَكُمْ يَقُولُ: أَخَذَ مَوَاثِيقَهُمْ أَنْ يُخْلِصُوا لَهُ وَلا يَعْبُدُوا غَيْرَهُ.

قوله: وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُ الطُّورَ

٦٥٠ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَمَانٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ وَرَفَعْنَاهُ: وَرَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكَمُ الطور قال: رفعته الملائكة.

٦٥١ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ ثنا مِنْجَابُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ أَنْبَأَ بِشْرُ بْنُ عُمَارَةَ عَنْ أَبِي رَوْقٍ عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ: الطُّورَ قَالَ الطُّورُ مَا أَنَبْتَ مِنَ الْجِبَالِ وَمَا لَمْ يُنْبِتْ فَلَيْسَ بِطُورٍ. قَالَ: وَرُوِيَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسِ قَوْلٌ آخَرُ.

الْوَجْهُ الثَّانِي:

٦٥٢ - حَدَّثَنَا أبي عن إبراهيم بن مهدي المصيص ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ الْعَمِّيُّ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: الطُّورُ جَبَلٌ. قَالَ: وَرُوِيَ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ وَعَطَاءٍ وَعِكْرِمَةَ وَالْحَسَنِ وَالضَّحَّاكِ وَالرَّبِيعِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ وَأَبِي صَخْرٍ نَحْوُ ذَلِكَ.

٦٥٣ - حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ ثنا حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ: قَالَ لِي عَطَاءٌ: رَفَعْنَا فَوْقَكُمُ الطُّورَ قَالَ رَفَعَ فَوْقَهُمُ الْجَبَلَ عَلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ فَقَالَ: لَتُؤْمِنُنَّ بِهِ أَوْ لِيَقَعَنَّ عَلَيْكُمْ.
