932 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj narrated to us, Ibn Idris narrated to us, from his father, from Abu Ishaq, from Sa'id ibn Jubayr regarding "And they were imbued in their hearts with the calf," he said: When the calf was burned, it was rasped, then scattered [into the water], and they sipped the water until their faces became like saffron.
933 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi, who said: Moses took the calf and slaughtered it with the rasp, then it was scattered into the sea. There did not remain a running sea on that day but that something fell into it. Then Moses said to them: Drink from it. So they drank, and whoever loved it, gold appeared on his mustache. That is when He says: "And they were imbued in their hearts with the calf through their disbelief."
934 - Al-Hasan ibn Abi al-Rabi' narrated to us, 'Abd al-Razzaq informed us, Ma'mar informed us, from Qatadah regarding His saying: "And they were imbued in their hearts with the calf," he said: They were imbued with its love until that permeated into their hearts.
And it was narrated from Abu al-'Aliyah and al-Rabi' ibn Anas similarly.
