So when the servant says: 'Master of the Day of Judgment,' He says: 'My servant has deferred to Me and lauded Me.'"

24 - ‘Ali ibn Tahir narrated to us, [from] Muhammad ibn al-‘Ala’—meaning Abu Kurayb—[from] ‘Uthman ibn Sa‘id al-Zayyat, [from] Bishr ibn ‘Umarah, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn ‘Abbas, regarding "Master of the Day of Judgment," he says: "No one will possess any judgment on that day alongside Him, as they possess in the world."

His saying: "Day of Judgment" (Yawm al-din)

25 - ‘Ali ibn Tahir narrated to us, with the same chain, from Ibn ‘Abbas, regarding His saying: "Day of Judgment," he said: "The Day of Judgment is the day of the reckoning of the creatures; it is the Day of Resurrection, when He will judge them by their deeds; if [they are] good, then [the result is] good, and if [they are] evil, [the result is] evil, except for whom He pardons."

26 - My father narrated to us, [from] Mahmud ibn Ghaylan, [from] Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah, from Humayd al-A‘raj, regarding Allah's saying "Master of the Day of Judgment," he said: "The Day of Recompense."

27 - ‘Ali ibn Tahir narrated to us, [from] Muhammad ibn al-‘Ala’, [from] ‘Uthman ibn Sa‘id, [from] Bishr ibn ‘Umarah, from Abu Rawq, from al-Dahhak, from Ibn ‘Abbas, who said: Gabriel (peace be upon him) said: "Say, O Muhammad," and it is the collective [expression of]: "It is You we worship," meaning: "It is You we acknowledge as One, fear, and hope in, O our Lord, and no one else."

28 - ‘Ali ibn Harb narrated to us, [from] Zayd ibn al-Hubab, from Husayn ibn Waqid, from Matar, from Qatadah, regarding "It is You we worship and You we ask for help," he said: "He guided [them] to Himself [by saying] that He is such-and-such, so say [it]."

29 - Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabbah narrated to us, [from] ‘Abd al-Wahhab, from Sa‘id, from Qatadah, regarding His saying: "It is You we worship and You we ask for help," he said: "He commands you to dedicate worship sincerely to Him, and that you seek His help regarding your affairs."

His saying: "And You we ask for help" (Wa iyyaka nasta‘in)
