al-Husayn, from his father, from his grandfather, from ‘Abd Allah ibn ‘Abbas regarding "Allah knows that you used to deceive yourselves," he means by that what ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab did. So Allah sent down His pardon and said: "So He accepted your repentance and forgave you."
His saying: "So now, have relations with them."
1681 - Ahmad ibn ‘Isam al-Ansari narrated to us, Abu ‘Amir al-‘Aqadi narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from ‘Asim, from Bakr ibn ‘Abd Allah al-Muzani, from Ibn ‘Abbas, he said: "Al-mubasharah (having relations) is intercourse, but Allah uses a metaphor."
It was narrated from Mujahid, ‘Ata’, al-Dahhak, Muqatil ibn Hayyan, al-Suddi, al-Rabi‘ ibn Anas, and Zayd ibn Aslam something similar to that.
His saying: "And seek what Allah has decreed for you."
It has been differed upon in its interpretation according to several aspects:

1682 - Abu Sa‘id al-Ashaj narrated to us, ‘Abd Allah ibn Khirash—meaning the brother of al-‘Awam ibn Hawshab through his mother—narrated to us, from al-‘Awam, from Mujahid, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding "And seek what Allah has decreed for you," he said: "The child."
It was narrated from Anas, Shurayh, al-Hasan, Mujahid, ‘Ata’, al-Dahhak, Sa‘id ibn Jubayr, ‘Ikrimah, al-Suddi, al-Rabi‘ ibn Anas, al-Hakam ibn ‘Utaybah, Qatadah, Zayd ibn Aslam, and Muqatil ibn Hayyan something similar to that.
And the second view:
And it is one of the two statements from Ibn ‘Abbas.
1683 - My father narrated to us, Ibrahim ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Ar‘arah narrated to us, Mu‘adh ibn Hisham narrated to us, from his father, from ‘Amr ibn Malik, from Abu al-Jawza’, from Ibn ‘Abbas regarding "And seek what Allah has decreed for you," he said: "The Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr)."
