His saying: "And know that Allah is severe in punishment"

1815 - My father narrated to us, Ahmad ibn 'Abdah narrated to us, Hammad ibn Zayd narrated to us, from 'Ali ibn Zayd, he said: Mutarrif recited this verse: "Severe in punishment." He said: If people knew the magnitude of Allah's punishment, Allah's vengeance, Allah's might, and Allah's retribution, no tear would dry for them, and their eyes would find no joy in anything.

His saying: "The Hajj is [during] well-known months"

1816 - Yunus ibn 'Abd al-A'la informed us, Ibn Wahb reported, Ibn Jurayj reported to us, he said: I said to Nafi': Did you hear 'Abd Allah ibn 'Umar naming the months of Hajj? He said: Yes. 'Abd Allah used to name: Shawwal, Dhu al-Qa'dah, and Dhu al-Hijjah. He said: Ibn Shihab, 'Ata' ibn Abi Rabah, and Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), said that as well.

1817 - Abu Sa'id al-Ashajj and 'Amr al-Awdi narrated to us, they said: Waki' narrated to us, from Sharik, from Abu Ishaq, from Abu al-Ahwas, from 'Abd Allah: "The Hajj is [during] well-known months," he said: Shawwal, Dhu al-Qa'dah, and ten days of Dhu al-Hijjah. Similar was narrated from 'Umar ibn al-Khattab, 'Ali ibn Abi Talib, 'Ata', Tawus, Ibn al-Zubayr, Ibn 'Abbas, Mujahid, Ibrahim, al-Hasan, al-Dahhak, al-Suddi, Muhammad ibn Sirin, al-Zuhri, Qatadah, al-Rabi' ibn Anas, and Muqatil ibn Hayyan.

1818 - Ahmad ibn Sinan narrated to us, Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Qays ibn Muslim, from Tariq ibn Shihab, he said: 'Abd Allah said: "The Hajj is [during] well-known months," [it is] not [the time] for 'Umrah.

1819 - Ahmad ibn Yahya ibn Malik al-Susi narrated to us, Hajjaj ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj said: 'Umar ibn 'Ata' reported to me, from 'Ikrimah, the freed slave of Ibn 'Abbas, from Ibn 'Abbas, that it is not appropriate for anyone to enter into the state of Ihram for Hajj except during the months of Hajj, because of the saying of Allah: "The Hajj is [during] well-known months."
