ibn Hayyan: His saying: "After its affirmation" in the Torah [is] that they should believe in Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—and testify to his truthfulness, so they disbelieved and broke the first covenant.
His saying: "And sever that which Allah has ordered to be joined"

292 - Al-Hasan ibn al-Sabah narrated to us, Yazid ibn Harun, Yahya ibn 'Abbad, and Shababah ibn Sawwar narrated to us, they said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Mus'ab ibn Sa'd, from his father, he said: "The Haruriyyah are those whom Allah spoke of: 'And sever that which Allah has ordered to be joined.'" The phrasing is that of Yazid.

293 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "And sever that which Allah has ordered to be joined" [refers to] the ties of kinship.

294 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Safwan ibn Salih narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf informed me, from Muqatil ibn Hayyan: His saying: "And sever that which Allah has ordered to be joined" [refers to] Muhammad—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—the prophets, and the messengers before him, that they should all believe [in them all] and not differentiate between any of them.
His saying: "And cause corruption upon the earth"

295 - Al-Hasan ibn Muhammad ibn al-Sabah narrated to us, Yazid ibn Harun, Shababah ibn Sawwar, and Yahya ibn 'Abbad narrated to us, they said: Shu'bah narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn Murrah, from Mus'ab ibn Sa'd, from his father: "And cause corruption upon the earth." Sa'd used to call them the 'transgressors' (al-fasiqin).

296 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, 'Amr ibn Hammad narrated to us, Asbat narrated to us, from al-Suddi: "And cause corruption upon the earth" [means] they act in it with disobedience.
297 - Abu Zur'ah narrated to us, Safwan narrated to us, al-Walid narrated to us, Bukayr ibn Ma'ruf informed me, from Muqatil regarding His saying: "And cause corruption upon the earth," he said: "Their evil deeds which they commit upon the earth."
